Dorotha Jean Forman

Dorotha Jean Rhodes Forman, 86, passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2014, at her home in
Aurora, WV.

Dorotha was born September 12th, 1928 and raised in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late James Sylvester and Edith Lillian Rhodes. She relocated to Aurora upon her marriage to Fred Allen Forman, to whom she was married for 56 blissful years.

Dorotha was a graduate of Tunnelton High School and studied at Fairmont State University, with a concentration in Teaching. After leaving Fairmont, she put her schooling to use, teaching primarily in one-room schoolhouses across Preston County. Later she became employed at Hopemont Hospital, where she worked until her retirement in 1991.

Dorotha faithfully attended the Amboy United Methodist Church for most of her life, and deeply enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and spoiling her grandchildren in every way possible, mostly through the aforementioned baking, at which she had few rivals.

She is survived by her son, Arthur Forman, and his wife, Janice, of Aurora; daughter, Teresa Meaney, of Clarksburg, MD; grandson, Joseph DeLauder, and wife, Mary, of St. Charles, IL; granddaughter, Lora Shedd, and husband, Mike, of Barksdale AFB, LA; grandson, Anthony DeLauder, and wife, Leah, of Aurora; granddaughter Victoria Meaney, of Damascus, MD; grandson, Fulton "Reagan" Meaney of Clarksburg, MD; her six great grandchildren, Hunter, Abby, Alexis, Alayna, Miles, and Cole.

In addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her loving husband Fred Allen Forman, in 2007; step-father, David Robinson, in 1993.

Friends may call the Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home - Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, on Thursday, December 11, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8pm; Friday, December 12, 2014, at the Aurora United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Cheryl George officiating. Interment will follow at the Aurora Cemetery.
