Edward Walter Thorn

Edward Walter Thorn, 70, of Howesville, WV, died on Monday, December 25, 2017, at his home.

Edward was born July 17, 1947, in Howesville, a son of the late Walter Edward and Kathleen Marie (Greaser) Thorn.

He retired in 2002 from Consol North Branch coal mines as a miner operator. Edward was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Kingwood and a member of UMWA District 31. He enjoyed hunting, 4-wheeling and time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Catherine Ann (Hall) Thorn; one son, Edward Walter Thorn Jr. of Howesville; three brothers and spouse, Ray and Ellen Thorn of Albright, Danny Thorn of Howesville, Donnie Thorn of Kingwood; one sister and spouse, Doris and Ray Bowie of Naples, FL; his best friend, Ron Keslar of McClellandtown, PA; several nieces and nephews; his dogs, Beeper, Bo Bo & Kate.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street; on Thursday, December 28, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8pm; on Friday, December 29, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Mark Switzer officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
