Everett Bishop Obituary

Everett Clayton Bishop, 84, of Kingwood, WV, died on Monday, October 27, 2014, at his home.

Everett was born August 23, 1930, in Hudson, a son of the late Fredrick William and Vernace Burl (Gibson) Bishop.

He was a 1949 graduate of Kingwood High School and a veteran of the National Guard. He retired from Allegheny Power Company-Albright Power Station in 1986, after working for 31 years. Everett was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Kingwood, and Alligator Park Church in Punta Gorda, FL. He was a member of various lodges, clubs and organizations including Brown Lodge #32, Bethlehem Farm for 30 years, Preston County Country Club, Preston County Farmers Market Board of Directors, United Methodist Men and was named 2002 Farmer of the Year.

He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Frances Linn (Williams) Bishop; two sons and spouse, Michael J. Bishop of Apex, NC; Patrick E. and Tonja Bishop of Kingwood; one daughter and spouse, Lynn and Kenneth Peters of Grafton; two brothers and spouses, Robert A. and Lela Bishop of Warren, OH, A. Lee and Shirley Bishop of Locust Grove, VA; three sisters and spouses, Berlene Miller of Bruceton Mills, Joyce and Christopher Tatham of Kingwood, Judy and Robert O'Connor of Valley Point; one brother-in-law, Perry Rhodes of Tunnelton; six grandchildren, Trent Bishop, Lyle Bishop, Cameron Bishop, Benjamin Peters, Allison Peters, and Shelby Bishop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Beth Ann Bishop; two brothers-in-law, Richard Miller, Robert Williams; one sister, Violet Rhodes.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Friday, October 31, 2014, from 1-4 and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 107 W. High Street with Pastor Paul G. Rebelo officiating. In honor of Everett's wishes, cremation services are being handled by Rotruck-Lobb crematory.

The family requests that any memorial donations be made in Everett's memory to either the Wesley United Methodist Church, c/o Capitol Campaign, 107 West High Street, Kingwood, WV 26537, or to Hospice Care of Preston County, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.
