Harold Schmidle Obituary
Harold Thomas "Tom/JJ" Schmidle, of Terra Alta, died on Monday, October 30, 2017, at his home.
Tom was born in Oakland, MD, a son of the late George Thomas and Mary Jane Schmidle.
He was a 1971 graduate of Kingwood High School. He worked for over 30 years with Preston/ Mountaineer contractors as a Forman; a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Terra Alta, and recently attended the Community Presbyterian Church in Arthurdale. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, farming and time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jessie Rebecca "Becca" (Ihrman) Schmidle; two sons and spouses, Thomas and Nancy Schmidle of Rainelle, Cody and Kelsey Schmidle of Terra Alta; one daughter and spouse, Jessie "Carrie" and Josh Uphold of Reedsville; one brother and spouse, Tim and Denise Schmidle of Wooster, OH; five grandchildren, Christina Schmidle and David Critchley, Kaylee Schmidle, Sophia Uphold, Joshua "JJ" Uphold, Tucker Uphold; one great-grandchild, Everly Critchley; mother-in-law, Jessie Diane Ihrman of Arthurdale.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Karen Sue Schmidle; father-in-law, Francis E. Ihrman.
Friends will be received at the Community Presbyterian Church in Arthurdale, Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Steve Lightner officiating.
The family requests that memorial donations be made in Tom's memory to the Community Presbyterian Church, c/o Lorraine Weaver, P.O. Box 72, Arthurdale, WV 26520, or to the Preston County Humane Society, P.O. Box 395, Kingwood, WV 26537.
Arrangements and cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Kingwood.
