Robert Allen Isner, 74, of Carmichaels, PA, died on Friday, March 6, 2015, at SW Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, PA.
Robert was born September 3, 1940, in Independence, WV, a son of the late Harry and Elizabeth (DeMoss) Isner.
He graduated from Newburg High School. He was an honor student and lettered in varsity baseball and basketball. He was a catcher for the baseball team. He served in the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 101st Airborne Paratroopers Stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. As a civilian he was employed at various local mines and drilling companies. While employed in the mine he held the position of foreman as well as other supervisory positions. He was also a union representative at Martinka Mine. He was a devoted father, husband, son, brother and uncle to his family. He was happy when he was visited by his daughter, young grandsons and granddaughter. He sadly missed his son who had recently passed away. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed growing a garden every year which he shared with family, friends and neighbors. His happiest times were spent relaxing on the porch with his dog Patch, enjoying the land and wildlife on the farm where he made his home with his partner, in Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his devoted and loving partner, Charlotte Jackson; one daughter, Elizabeth Dalton (Allan); grandchildren, Charles, Katelyn and Thomas; partner's children, Terri Jackson Laird (Timothy), Wally Jackson and Fiancée Lisa Barr, Brieanna Gashie Rompala (Jeffrey), Samantha McClelland (Brad), Sabrina Jackson, and a great grandchild, Ava Kelly; one brother, Paul Isner (Diane); three sisters, Marlene Grose, Louella Jackson (Robert), Connie Lewis (Eddie); several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allen Isner, II.
