Samuel Allison Teets

Samuel Allison Teets, 81, of Spraggs, PA, died on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Samuel was born December 5, 1936, in Kingwood, son of the late Alva Albin and Erma Margarette (Johnson) Teets.

He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1959. He was a retired coal miner and member of the UMWA Local 1702, District 31 in Fairmont. Samuel enjoyed watching westerns and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Blacksville.

He is survived by his wife of 58 ½ years, Silva Anna (Auvil) Teets; two sons and spouses, Leroy Teets and Terri of Spraggs, PA, and Kenneth Teets and companion Debra Rager of Cabot, PA; three brothers, Howard Teets of Rowlesburg, Ben Teets of Borgman, and Jack Teets of Core; five grandchildren, Lindsey Wilson, Ben Teets, Zoe Teets, Random Johnson and Nana Pennington; two step-grandchildren, Madison Rager and Hannah Rager; five great-grandchildren, Chandler Wilson, Allen Teets, Nell Teets, Maddie Pennington and Kylie Pennington.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Allen Teets on December 12, 2005; one brother, Jay Teets; and two sisters, Louella Teets and an infant sister.

Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street, Kingwood, on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 12:00 noon until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Arkola officiating. Interment will follow at the Etam Cemetery.
