John Benjamin Bowermaster

John Benjamin Bowermaster, 77, of Kingwood, WV, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood. He was born in Morgantown, WV on February 20, 1947, a son of the late Fred Clay Bowermaster and Anna May (Gilkeson) Bowermaster.

John graduated from Kingwood High School in 1965 and was a WVU graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. He worked as an elementary teacher at Albright Elementary School.

John was an avid fan of Mountaineer basketball and football, and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He loved to make others happy. He enjoyed sharing his candy with others and never missed celebrating a holiday. John will be greatly missed by his family, friends and community.

John is survived by his brother, Jerry Bowermaster (Marsha), of Morgantown, WV; three nieces, Camille Sapp (Nathaniel), of Pittsburg, PA, Carrie Patrick (Clarence), of Huntersville, NC, Jodi Wilburn (Nicholas), of Morgantown, WV; great nieces and nephews, Hailey and Chloe Sapp, Davon and Bryana Patrick, Andrew and Alex Wilburn; great great nephew, Kaison Patrick, and many cousins.
