Anna Virginia McCabe

Anna Virginia McCabe, 92, of Kingwood, WV died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood.

Virginia was born February 19, 1926 in Flemington, WV, a daughter of the late Ted L. and Louise (Hauser) Helmick.

She was a well-known seamstress in the Kingwood area having worked at the Wash-In-Shop and the Kingwood Cleaners. After her retirement from Foodland, she continued to sew and quilt as well as working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a member of the Kingwood Baptist Church.

Virginia is survived by one daughter, Shirley David of Bayville, NJ; one daughter-in-law, Charlotte (Wilson) McCabe of Kingwood, two grandchildren, Melissa "Missy" and Austin Comstock of Kingwood and Rachel and Will Freer of Bayville, NJ; five great grandchildren, Alyssa and Skyler Comstock, Sara Freer, Leah and Jason Wolcott and Jacob Freer; two great-great grandchildren, Elizabeth Cooley and Jane Wolcott; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward McCabe; one son, Wilbur Dale McCabe; one sister, Mary Ruth Bell; three brothers, Norman, Glen, and Wilbur Helmick; one son-in-law, Frank David.

Family and Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kevin Sions officiating. Interment will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood.
