Edna Lea (Fazenbaker) Hayes, 93, of Kingwood, WV, died on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at her home.
Edna was born November 19, 1925, in Arthurdale, a daughter of the late Emerson and Rose Lee (Turner) Fazenbaker.
She was a 1938 graduate of Masontown High School. Edna retired from the Preston County Board of Education after working over 25 years as a cook at the Kingwood Elementary School. She was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. Edna enjoyed traveling, shopping, and gardening, but her most joy came from spending time with her family, especially cooking for them on Sundays.
She is survived by three sons and spouses, Harry and Cheryl Hayes, Terry and Denise Hayes, Larry and Cheryl Hayes, all of Kingwood; one daughter and spouse, Cookie and Tom Lobb of Kingwood; 10 grandchildren, Kenny Chidester, Kent Chidester, Kim Biundo, Kelly Manko, Terry Hayes Jr., Holly Feather, Harry Hayes III, Matthew Hayes, Lara Hayes, Heather Hayes; 20 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Harry “Buster” Hayes; three brothers, Otha Fazenbaker, Dale Fazenbaker and Jody Fazenbaker; three sisters, Jesse Fazenbaker, Hattie Hall, and Ruth Fazenbaker.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Sunday, June 9, 2019, from 2-8pm; on Monday, June 10, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., the hour of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Paul Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.
