George Hartman 93, of Kingwood, WV, passed away at home with his family by his side.
George was self-employed for the majority of his working years. He first worked alongside his father in the construction and mining industries. Later in life, he went on to own an Esso service station and a taxi service.

He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He was a 1943 graduate of Tunnelton High School, a member of Tunnelton United Methodist Church, a life member of Knights of Pythias, and a Charter member of the Kingwood Lions Club. While he enjoyed traveling the world, he always felt like there was nowhere more beautiful than home. He also enjoyed supporting the local youth, those in need, and he loved his buckwheat cakes.
He’s survived by his wife of 30 years, Eileen Legg Hartman; two daughters Linda (Randy) Huggins of Kingwood, Patty (Leslie) Dorris of MO; two sons George Hartman Jr. of OH, John Hartman of WV; three grandchildren Cassie Asbury of Ona WV, Jarrod Huggins of Terra Alta WV, Kayla Jean Huggins of Kingwood; five great grandchildren, Max, Ace and Kalista Huggins, Jake and Bo Asbury and a dear cousin Carlotta Maier Newinski and several nieces and nephews. Three stepchildren; Raymond (Margie) Legg, Robin (Jay) Huffman of TN, Janice (Jeff) Weaver of TX,; nine step grandchildren; Jenna Rejman, Angie Brown, Josh Legg of TN, Lindsey Beasley, Jason Weaver, Jeremy Weaver of TX, Alex Kramer of PA, Leslie Kramer Belloso and Sean Miller of CA; eight step great-grandchildren; Haley, Carter, Alora & Gabe Rejman, Asher & Gunner Miller, Collin, Makayla & Tatum Brown, Khloe & Collins Beasley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Bessie (Maier) Hartman, siblings Howard Hartman, Mary Lou Farrell and Ruth Jean Rouzee, his former wife and mother of his children, Helen Jean Bolyard Hartman, former wife, Anna Jean Hardman Hartman, and stepdaughter Ruth Ann Kramer.
