Mary Alice Galloway, 76, of Harpers Ferry, WV died peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Windy Hill Village, in Kingwood, WV. Born April 15, 1942, in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of William F. and Alice M. (McTague) Galloway. Ms. Galloway was a 1960 graduate of Padua Academy, and went on to complete training as a medical technologist from St. Francis Hospital. Later in life, she pursued a college diploma, becoming a 1986 graduate of Hood College (Frederick, MD), where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. Two years later, she would earn a Master’s degree in business management from this institution. Ms. Galloway married Edwin A. Haugh of Delaware City, DE in 1965, and became the proud mother of three sons, Christopher Edwin Haugh of Frederick (MD), Timothy William Haugh of Orlando (FL), and Jonathan David Haugh of Brooklyn (NY). She held a variety of positions in the field of medical technology, hospital management and professional consulting. These included employment with Wilmington General Hospital, Suburban Hospital (Bethesda, MD), Birch & Davis Associates (Falls Church, VA), and EDS. She retired in 2006. Ms. Galloway was a loyal parishioner of Saint Agnes Catholic Church in Shepherdstown, WV. Here she served as a Eucharistic minister for several years, and participated with the OWLS group. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, collecting antiques, rowing, watching movies, talking politics, visiting lighthouses and spending precious time with her dogs: Morgan, Chloe, Zack and Alfie. In addition to her sons, Ms. Galloway is survived by Ellen Rowan, her partner of 4+years; seven grandchildren, Tyler, Collin, and Avery Haugh of Orlando, Eddie Haugh, Jack, Nick and Vinnie McGuinness of Frederick; two daughters-in-law, Sara Haugh of Orlando, and Ellen McGuinness of Frederick. She was predeceased by two siblings, William F. Galloway, Jr. (2007) and Alice Margaret Crosby (2017). A Memorial Mass will be celebrated later this spring at Saint Agnes Catholic Church, 200 S. Duke St., Shepherdstown, WV. Interment will follow in the church’s columbarium garden. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in the name of Mary A.
