Fred Thomas Casteel

Fred Thomas Casteel, 87, of St. Albans, WV, passed away on September 18, 2017. He was born on July 29, 1930 in Arnettsville, WV. The son of the late Hester Marie (Haskiell) and Fred W. Casteel. He was the loving husband of Sandra P. (Price) Casteel.
Fred was an active member of Lake View Methodist Church in St. Albans, WV. He was a lay minister, Bible study coordinator and a Sunday school teacher. Fred worked for the Mine Safety and Health Administration as a District Manager. Being outdoors brought Fred great joy. He loved to take walks, grow tomatoes, fish, and hunt. He enjoyed helping others; he wrote many grants to help those in need, and would give to the homeless shelter weekly. He was a member of Gideons International St. Albans Camp.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sandra; daughter, Brenda Jo Casteel Butler and her husband, David of Bethlehem, PA; stepchildren, Jason Webb, Charles "Rusty" Webb and Catherine Tate; eight grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Lila Casteel. Fred was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Casteel Mullens; brothers, Donald Casteel and Arnold Casteel and sister, Frances Peaslee.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Camp Ground Cemetery with Pastor Terry Wilt officiating, in Tunnelton.
