Alton Lee Mason

Alton “Lee” Mason, 51, of Masontown, WV, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Lee was born May 18, 1968, in Cameron, TX, a son of Barbara Ann (Griffin) McClain of Dawson, TX, and the late Donald Roy Mason, and his late stepfather, Cleland McClain.

He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Murphy Energy Blackville #2. Lee loved the outdoors, gardening, yard work, dancing, listening and playing music, playing the guitar, restoring cars, drag racing, camping, fishing and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Christina Lynn (Bolyard) Mason of Masontown; three sons and spouse, Christopher and Amie Mason of Fort Worth, TX, Tyler Whetsell and Abby Frazier of Morgantown, Collin Williams of Masontown; one daughter, Crystal Mason of White Settlement, TX; four brothers and spouse, Rodney Mason of TX; Richard Mason of MS, Troy Lascon of TX, Donnie and Melodi Smith of TX; two sisters and spouses, Jennifer and Fred Adams, of TX, Debbie and Lucky Gamblin of Kingwood; four grandchildren, Blaize Mason, Vannessa Haynes, Kaiden Miller, McKenna Miller.

In addition to his father and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Mason.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 2-6pm. at the Masontown VFW Post # 1589, 8477 Veterans Memorial Highway, Masontown, WV 26542.
