Charles Hoyt Pase, 76, of Kingwood, WV, died on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Charlie was born March 11, 1945, in Thomas, WV, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Thelma Pearl (Helmick) Pase Sr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army reserves. Charlie was self-employed in coal, trucking and recycling, with most recently being with Preston Tire and Recycling and Charles H. Pase Waste Tire Monofil. He was a mentor at the Mountaineer Challenge Academy, assisted with the Preston County probation program, he was a member and past president of the Preston County Bee Association, and active with Preston County Solid Waste Authority, but most of all, Charlie loved being with his family and his dog, Chewy Dawn. He was the best father, husband, mentor, teacher, hugger, jokester, partner in crime and confidant in the world, not only to his wife and “his girls” but to everyone who knew him. He was survived by his wife of 56 years, Karen Sue (Britton) Pase; three daughters and spouse, Pamela Dawn Shahan of Athens, TN, Peggy Sue Pase of Kingwood, Monica Lynn and Robbie Maxwell of Morgantown; daughter-in-law, Dixie Ann (Simons) Pase of Kingwood; two brothers, George Pase, Woodrow Pase Jr., both of Tunnelton; one sister, Kristle Plum of Albright; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Michael Pase, Robert Andrew Pase; three brothers, Giles Pase, Linton Pase and Wilkie Pase; three sisters, Goldie Pase, Betty Spencer and Sylvia Bolyard; one granddaughter, Christina Gower.
Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street; Sunday, April 11, 2021, from 1-4 and 6-9pm; on Monday, April 12, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Kelly Gamble officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory. Social distancing and masks are required.
