Charles Sutton III Obituary

Charles V. Sutton III “Beau or Charlie” passed away on February 13, 2020. Beau was born July 12, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Charles V. Sutton Jr. and Jeannette White Sutton.

He attended Edmondson High School and Catonsville Community College. He served his country in the US Army in Viet Nam from 1965-1967. 28 years ago, he and his wife settled in Alpine Lake in Terra Alta, WV, where he loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and always looking for adventure!!! Beau was an active member of St Edward, The Confessor Catholic Church, Terra Alta, WV, and lovingly served for over 15 years the patients of Hopemont Hospital offering prayers and a kind word to all.

Charles is survived by Judy Ann Mapes, loving wife of 29 years two daughters Kathleen Sutton and Karis Pallone from previous marriages; his brother William Sutton and wife Alejandra; sisters, Theresa Sutton Widerman and husband Robert, Kathleen Sutton Kenney, Peggy Sutton Boot and husband Scott; brothers- in- law Michael Kenney, Michael Spann, William Mapes and wife Kathy; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Lee Karas and Ginger Mapes; 15 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister Margaret Rose Sutton, and sister Patricia “Pasty” Sutton Span; his niece, Jeannette Span; his mother-in-law, Kathryn Kohler; his brother-in-law Ronald G. Mapes.

Under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Funeral Home, a service will be held at St Edward Church in Terra Alta, WV in April to honor his life. (date to be announced)

"With the aging of our priests and brothers and the increase in health care costs, we are having difficulty supporting our members. We have given our lives to serve the People of God, now we are asking the People of God to help us."
