Eleanor Gaye Hawkins, 87, of Pickerington, OH, formerly of Tunnelton, WV, died on Thursday, March 4, 2021, at her home.
Eleanor was born December 4, 1933, in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late Donnas Nelson and Hilda Emmaline (Morris) Zinn.
She was a 1951 graduate of Tunnelton High School. She had been a secretary for Tunnelton High School, then she worked as a caseworker for the Preston County Health Department, where she retired. Eleanor was a past president of the Tunnelton Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, shopping, playing games on her computer, and most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Ronald and Beth Readd of PA; two daughters, Heather Gaston and companion, Keith Johnson, Daniel Gaston, of Pickerington, OH, Kathy and Mike Mullenax of Tunnelton; two brothers and spouses, Charles and Karen Zinn, Randy and Diane Zinn, all of Tunnelton; four sisters and spouse, Shirley Gainer and Paula McGinnis, both of Kingwood, Elizabeth and John Poland of Tunnelton, Janis and Larry Bolyard of Kingwood; 12 grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Readd; second husband, Warren Hawkins; one sister, Donna Jean Zinn; her niece, Jackie Cottrell.
Family and friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street; on Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 p.m. with A. Craig Rotruck officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery. Social distancing and masks are required.
