Helen Mae (Calhoun) Gibson

Helen Mae Gibson, 84 of Kingwood, passed away on a beautiful spring day, Friday, May 25, 2022 at her home surrounded by loving family.

She was born on September 28, 1937 in Rowlesburg, daughter of the late Roy Ellsworth and Alice Mae Garlitz Calhoun.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She attended the Kingwood Apostolic Church, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, listing to gospel music and feeding her birds and loved her dog, Sadie.

Helen is survived by her son, Carl Lee Gibson, Sr. and wife, Imogene Frances, her daughter, Mary Alice Braham and husband, Bradley Kent; a brother, Charles David Calhoun and wife, Rhonda.; four grandchildren, Carl Lee Gibson, Jr, and wife, Danielle, Haley Elizabeth Braham-Nelson and husband, Bardon;  Jennifer Sue Gibson, Darcy Lynne Braham; two great grandchildren and one on the way and four special nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnold Junior Gibson, a daughter, Carol Sue Gibson, a brother, Robert Calhoun and wife. Dean.

Family and friends will be received at the Kingwood Funeral Home in Kingwood on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 1-2 pm where services will be held at 2 pm with Pastor A.C. Mann Officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Kingwood Apostolic Church Food Pantry. At 305 S. Price St. Kingwood, WV 26537.

Our mother was a loving faith filled woman that will forever live in our hearts and will remain an inspiration to everyone she’s touched.
