James Ralph Everly, Sr., 82 of Kingwood passed away November 28, 2021, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born on September 23, 1939, in Rodamer, WV. The son of the late Nellie Pearl (Everly) Simpson and Frank Simpson.
He served in the US Air Force, was a member of District 31 of the UMWA in Fairmont. He retired from Island Creek Coal Company with over 30 years of service.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and playing the penny slots at the casinos. His family was the highlight of his life. He was always there for us anyway he could and never expected anything in return. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Dora Lea (Moats) Everly; one daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Richard Dumire of Kingwood, James Ralph Everly Jr. and wife Katherine of Rowlesburg, Franklin “Tiger” Everly of Tunnelton, Steven Everly, Sr. of Morgantown; Several grandchildren, Jennifer Dumire of Morgantown, Scott Dumire of Albright, Todd and Elesa Everly of Rowlesburg, Zach Everly of Rowlesburg, Stacey Everly of Morgantown, April & Stephen Grimm of Tunnelton, Kacey Everly of PA, Steven Everly Jr. of Morgantown, Jordon Everly of Morgantown; one great-grandson Jameson Finn Everly that was born on November 27, 2021.
A private graveside service will be held at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, WV.
