Linda Marie Wakefield Weaver, 74, of Terra Alta, WV, died on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
Linda was born June 10, 1947, in Manheim, WV, a daughter of the late Jack Donald and Wanda Jean (Plum) Weaver.
She was a graduate of Rowlesburg High School and then attended Gale Institute of Indianapolis, IN, for a degree in data entry. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Terra Alta, and the Terra Alta Fire Department auxiliary and the Terra Alta Ambulance Service. Linda retired in 2012 from Hopemont State Hospital, where she worked as an Account Payable Clerk. She enjoyed gardening, listening to the oldies, attending Mud Bogs to cheer on her niece and nephews, being with family and friends and laughing. Linda was also a seamstress which she learned from her mother, and she always had a beloved Siamese cat throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon M. Wakefield, (Tony) of Bruceton Mills; one brother, David (Jeanette) Weaver of Fairmont; two sisters, Beverly (Hallie) Knotts of Manheim, Mary Jo Wine of Fellowsville; one grandson, Sgt. Devon C. Hershman of Bruceton Mills; two nieces, Lisa (Jeff) Warnick, Joey (Josh) Hixenbaugh; one nephew, David Weaver Jr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John Paxton Weaver; her nephew, Barry Knotts.
Friends may call at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, 295 South Price Street on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 12-4pm.
Following the visitation, cremation services will be under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Crematory. Linda will then be entombed in the Sunset Memorial Gardens Niche wall.
