Lula Louise Speelman Corbitt, 66, of Kingwood, WV, died on Monday, March 7, 2022, at Preston Memorial Hospital, with her loving husband by her side.
Lula was born March 14, 1955, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Carlus E. and Lula L. (Eagle) Speelman.
She was a retired teacher of Preston County Schools, where she taught for 31 years. She also ran with KAMP Ambulance Service. Lula enjoyed spending time with her dog, Bounce, going on car rides and wine tasting with her husband; she also loved playing bingo with family and friends. No matter who you were to Lula she never forgot a face or name and you always held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Allen Corbitt, two sisters, Wilma Jean (Eagle) (Speelman) Jones of Kingwood, Alice Pearl (Speelman) and Jackie Clark of Albright, one sister- in-law, Donna Nixon of Oregon; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law, Wilda and Harold Hillery and James T. Jones; her mother-in-law, Mary Corbitt.
Cremation services are under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel and Crematory.
