Russell Franklin Calvert, 80, of Kingwood, WV died Sunday, February 14, 2021, in his home with loving family by his side.

He was born on July 22, 1940, in Masontown, a son of Myrtle Virginia (Gamble) Calvert of Kingwood and the late Watson Franklin Calvert.

Russell was employed by Sheidow Bronze as a sculptor for 37 years. After retiring he pursed his dream and opened his own business called Prestige Art, LLC, where he enjoyed creating custom drawings and paintings of local landmarks. He was a member of Preston Lodge # 90 A.F. & A.M. in Kingwood for over 50 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia (Zinn) Calvert; one son, Timothy W. Calvert and wife, Sandra; one daughter, Terri L. Ruggles and husband, Steve; two grandchildren, Joshua S. Ruggles and wife, Jana and Ashley M. Burnside and husband, Bo; three great grandchildren, whom were the light of his life, Rilee Ruggles, Beckett Burnside and Hadlee Burnside all of Kingwood.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Darwin and Donald Calvert; two sisters, Doris Cole and Charlene Calvert.

There will be a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Russell’s name to The Preston County Schools Art Program, 731 Preston Drive, Kingwood, WV 26537, Attention: Katrina Kerstetter or to WV Caring, P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel.
